Use this page to understand and recalculate the Score of any planet in your Chart Interpretation. The calculator below implements the same rules AstroClock uses: dignity, retrograde, and aspect scoring (including polarity‑aware conjunctions).

How Scores work (overview)

Every Score (both Natal & Transit) uses three ingredients:

• Dignity — planet’s condition in its sign: Strong +5 / Neutral 0 / Weak –5
• Retrograde — ℞ always –2 (natal or transit as applicable)
• Aspect contributions — △ +3, ⚹ +2, □ –3, ☍ –3, ☌ polarity‑aware

How Transit Score is calculated

Transit Score =
  Dignity(tp)             (Strong +5 | Neutral 0 | Weak –5)
+ Retrograde(tp)          (℞ = –2, else 0)
+ NatalScore(primary target)    ← from your Natal Scores
+ AspectScore(primary aspect)   (△ +3, ⚹ +2, □ –3, ☍ –3, ☌ polarity‑aware)

“Primary” means the tightest (smallest orb) transit→natal aspect for that transiting planet. Other aspects are displayed for context but do not change the numeric Score.

Step‑by‑step

1. Read the transit planet’s dignity badge → +5 / 0 / –5.
2. Apply retrograde if the transit planet is ℞ today → –2 (else 0).
3. Find the primary aspect (smallest orb) in the transit→natal list under that planet.
4. Take the Natal Score of the target planet hit by that aspect.
5. Add the aspect score (△ +3, ⚹ +2, □ –3, ☍ –3, ☌ polarity‑aware).
6. Sum all parts → Transit Score.

Example (from your chart): Mars transit

• Dignity: Neutral → 0
• Retrograde: No → 0
• Primary aspect: Mars △ Mercury (tightest orb)
• Natal Mercury Score: +7
• Aspect score (△): +3
• Final Transit Score = 0 + 0 + 7 + 3 = +10
