ASTROCLOCK

FAQ

Quick answers about offline mode, accuracy (Swiss Ephemeris in WASM), zodiac systems, houses, aspects, scores, retrogrades, lunar cycles, and common troubleshooting.

Basics & Offline

Does the local time on the site update automatically?

Yes, the local time displayed on the site updates every 30 seconds without requiring you to refresh the page.

Does the local time on the site work when I’m offline?

Yes. If your device goes offline, the clock automatically switches to your device’s local time.

Does the site work fully offline?

Yes, with two limitations: Place lookup by name and the Gemini AI features (Synthesis and Oracle) require an active internet connection. When offline, enter coordinates in the format (lat)xx.xxx,(lon)yy.yyy — e.g., 40.713,-74.006. This works completely offline.

Does the site remember my date, time, and place input?

Yes. Your birth data (date, time, and location) is saved locally in your browser using localStorage.

What does “Interpret birth time as (Local / UTC / LMT)” mean?
  • Local: use for modern birth times (timezone/DST applied)
  • UTC: only if your input time is already UTC/UT
  • LMT: for historical births using local mean time by longitude

Accuracy & Tech

How accurate is the chart calculation?

Swiss Ephemeris is used by default for maximum precision (the same high‑accuracy astronomical engine used in professional astrology software). If Swiss Ephemeris fails to load, the site uses a "Local mode" fallback, which is still accurate but slightly less precise than the full ephemeris files.

After Swiss Ephemeris is downloaded once, it is stored offline by your browser’s cache and service worker. This means it does not re-download on page reloads, and it continues working fully offline. Swiss Ephemeris will only be downloaded again if you manually clear your browser storage.

Zodiac Systems

Which zodiac systems are supported?

Tropical, Sidereal (KP/Lahiri), and True Sidereal — MTZ (with Ophiuchus). Switch in Settings → Zodiac system.

More Info:
▶ Zodiac Systems

What is the difference between tropical and sidereal astrology?
  • Tropical: Tied directly to the seasons and the March equinox.
  • Sidereal: Anchored strictly to the physical star constellations.
  • Ayanamsa: The current angular difference is roughly ~24° (subtracting ~24° from tropical planet positions approximates your sidereal placements).

More Info:
▶ Tropical vs Sidereal

What is Ayanamsa?

The angular difference between tropical and sidereal zodiacs caused by precession. The value increases by about ~50″/year (~1° per 72 years); full cycle ≈ 25,920 years.

More Info:
▶ Precession of the Equinoxes

What is “True Sidereal — MTZ,” and why Ophiuchus?

True Sidereal uses constellation midpoints to define sign boundaries (non‑uniform widths). Because the ecliptic crosses Ophiuchus, it is included as a genuine segment.

Interpretation & Cycles

What are house systems?

In astrology, the 12 houses represent different areas of life (self, finances, relationships, work, etc.). A house system is simply the method used to draw the borders of those houses in your chart. Different house systems can place the same planet into different houses.

  • Whole Sign: each sign is a full house. As the oldest system (1st Century BCE), it originated in Hellenistic Egypt, remained continuous in Vedic astrology, and recently experienced a major modern Western revival.
  • Equal (from Asc degree): 30° houses from the Ascendant degree.
  • Placidus: time‑based, unequal houses; common in Western astrology.

What are the three lunar cycles?
  • Anomalistic: ~27.55 days (perigee/apogee; Supermoons/Micromoons)
  • Sidereal: ~27.3 days (relative to fixed stars)
  • Synodic: ~29.5 days (new moon to new moon)

What is the difference between strong and weak planets?
  • Strong: Energy flows constructively, making core virtues naturally accessible.
  • Weak: Energy is blocked or distorted, often expressing as compensatory extremes while the system seeks balance.

▶ Planetary Dignity & Debility

What does it mean if a planet is retrograde?

Apparent backward motion; energy turns inward/reflective. Re‑entries across sign boundaries are logged as new entry dates (you may see multiple entries/exits across a single transit).

More Info:
▶ Retrograde Motion Explained

How do Retrograde + strength/weakness interact?
  • Direct + strong: Outward‑facing, highly constructive energy flow.
  • Retrograde + strong: Constructive but entirely inward‑focused (reflection, integration, self-analysis).
  • Direct + weak: Compensatory extremes and imbalanced outward expressions.
  • Retrograde + weak: Doubly blocked expression, often leading to deep inner conflict or intense overcompensation.
What are the aspect symbols ☌ ⚹ □ △ ☍ and what does the number in brackets mean?

These are the five major (Ptolemaic) aspects in astrology:

  • ☌ Conjunction (0°) — neutral amplifier. The two planets fuse and intensify each other.
    • Supportive: Sun–Jupiter, Venus–Jupiter, Moon–Venus, Sun–Venus
    • Mixed: Sun–Mercury, Moon–Mercury, Venus–Mars
    • Challenging: Sun–Saturn, Mars–Saturn, Moon–Pluto, Mars–Pluto
  • ⚹ Sextile (60°) — harmonic / opportunity.
  • △ Trine (120°) — harmonic / flowing.
  • □ Square (90°) — hard / friction.
  • ☍ Opposition (180°) — hard / polarizing.

The number in parentheses is the orb (how far the aspect is from exact). Smaller orb = stronger.

The arrow reveals the direction:

  • ↑ applying (orb decreasing; aspect strengthening).
  • ↓ separating (orb increasing; aspect fading).

How does the Gemini AI Integration work?

AstroClock bridges high-precision astronomical mechanics with advanced Generative AI to provide real-time, personalized astrological interpretation. The framework operates across two distinct layers:

  • The Synthesis Module: When you open the Chart Interpretation panel, the system dynamically extracts the rich textual layout of your natal chart themes and active planetary transits. It safely passes this comprehensive local data matrix to Gemini AI to generate a cohesive, deep narrative summary of your current cosmic landscape.
  • The Interactive Chat Oracle: Accessible via the floating action button, the Oracle is a data-aware assistant. It retains your exact birth data and real-time planetary positions as context, allowing you to ask specific personal questions (e.g., career paths, timing, or planetary friction) and receive contextualized answers instantly.

The Oracle function receives astrological data based on your actions:

  • Baseline: Running a calculation initializes a minimal baseline dataset containing only your Name (optional), Birth date, Birth time, Location, Sun, Moon, ASC, and MC.
  • Full: Opening the Chart Interpretation automatically appends the complete narrative block, including your detailed Birth life themes and Current transits.

Scores & Risk logic

What do the Score values and colors mean for me as a user?

The Score shows how supportive or challenging a planetary influence is. The color helps you quickly understand the intensity:

  • ≤ –7 (dark red): Critical – high conflict potential and strong tension.
  • –6 to –3 (red): Difficult – requires effort; obstacles likely.
  • –2 to –1 (orange): Friction – patience, awareness, and balance needed.
  • 0 (grey): Neutral – neither supportive nor challenging.
  • +1 to +3 (light green): Positive – helpful influence, mild opportunities.
  • ≥ +4 (dark green): Very positive – strong opportunities and beneficial energy.

More Info:
▶ How Scores are Calculated

How are the Scores calculated (Natal, Current Transits, Zeitgeist)?
  • Natal: Dignity, retrograde status, and natal aspects establish your core cosmic baseline.
  • Current Transits: Active planetary movements and transiting influences are calculated directly against your personalized baseline.
  • Zeitgeist: An aggregate of transit‑to‑transit aspects calculating the current cosmic climate for the collective.

More Info:
▶ What are transits?

Why do Financial risk and Life risk show the same “Details” aspects but different scores?

They reference the exact same active Transit→Natal aspects but evaluate them using completely different calculation weights:

  • Financial risk: Penalizes planetary confusion, impulsiveness, and retrograde positions heavily to measure material and financial stability.
  • Life risk: Emphasizes physical timing, vitality markers, and overall action tolerance thresholds.

ASTROGANN Trading Engine

What happens if I close the browser and reopen AstroClock later?

ASTROGANN automatically restores your active trades from local storage. When the platform is reopened, it retrieves the latest market data and reconstructs what happened while the application was closed.

This means trade status, profit/loss calculations, target hits, stop hits, signal age, duration and performance metrics are updated as if the platform had remained online.

The engine analyzes all market activity that occurred since the last recorded trade state and synchronizes the trade accordingly.

Do I lose my active ASTROGANN trades when I refresh the page?

No. Active trades are stored locally in your browser and automatically restored when the page reloads.

Order Book entries, trade metadata, entry prices, stops, targets and signal parameters remain available unless they are manually deleted or browser storage is cleared.

Does ASTROGANN need to stay open to track trade performance?

No. ASTROGANN does not require a permanently open browser tab.

When reopened, the engine retrieves missing market history and reconstructs how the trade evolved while the application was closed, ensuring trade statistics remain consistent.

How is an ASTROGANN signal generated?

ASTROGANN combines planetary cycles, planetary aspects, celestial timing windows, cycle confluences, Gann-inspired time structures and market data to identify periods where the probability of market transitions may increase.

Signals are intended as research and decision-support tools and should not be interpreted as guaranteed trading outcomes.

What do N0, N1 and N2 mean?
  • N0: Short-Term horizon.
  • N1: Mid-Term horizon.
  • N2: Macro horizon.

Scan Signals may identify different opportunities across these horizons, allowing traders to compare setups with different durations, risk profiles and market structures.

Can ASTROGANN backtest its signals?

Yes. ASTROGANN is designed to work together with AstroClock's Time Travel capabilities, allowing users to explore historical market behaviour and analyze how planetary cycles aligned with previous market movements.

Future versions may include dedicated performance analytics and adaptive asset profiling tools.

What is the Order Book?

The Order Book stores all active and historical ASTROGANN trades generated or imported by the user.

Each entry records signal metadata, trade lifecycle information, performance statistics and execution parameters.

Will premium ASTROGANN features be introduced in the future?

Yes. The current roadmap includes Intelligence Scan, Performance Analytics, Adaptive Asset Profiles and additional institutional-grade research tools.

These capabilities may eventually be accessed through an optional credits-based model while the core platform remains available to all users.

Is ASTROGANN a fully automated trading bot?

No. ASTROGANN is a research and signal generation engine.

Its purpose is to identify and structure potential market opportunities using astrological and cyclical analysis. Execution decisions remain entirely under the user's control.

How does Scan Signals work?

Scan Signals scans historical market data and evaluates planetary, cyclical and Gann-related conditions across a large number of previous market states.

The objective is to identify historically validated opportunities rather than simply generating a signal based on the current market state.

How are trade statuses updated?

Every time ASTROGANN retrieves market data, it re-evaluates active trades against their entry price, target price and stop level.

Trades may automatically transition between Scanning, Monitoring, Waiting, Active, Target Hit, Stop Hit or Rejected depending on how price evolves after the signal has been generated.

What does Signal Quality mean?

Signal Quality is an internal confidence metric used by ASTROGANN to evaluate the strength of a setup.

The score incorporates multiple factors including planetary alignment, orb strength, confluence quality, timing relationships and structural validation filters.

Higher quality values indicate stronger alignment between the different analytical layers of the engine.

Will ASTROGANN include premium intelligence features?

The core ASTROGANN functionality is intended to remain available to all users.

Future premium intelligence modules may include advanced historical scans, performance analytics, adaptive asset profiling and other research-oriented capabilities.

The roadmap currently explores a credits-based access model that may eventually evolve into the AstroCoin ecosystem.

Why can ASTROGANN determine whether a target or stop was hit while I was offline?

ASTROGANN stores the complete trade state locally in your browser. When the platform is reopened, it retrieves the missing historical price data and evaluates every candle between the last known state and the current market state.

This allows the engine to reconstruct whether targets, stops, exits or signal invalidations occurred while the application was closed, ensuring trade statistics remain accurate and synchronized.

What happens if the market moves significantly while AstroClock is closed?

When AstroClock is reopened, ASTROGANN retrieves the missing historical market data and evaluates how price evolved during the offline period.

The engine can reconstruct whether signals remained valid, whether targets or stops were reached, and how trade statistics should be updated based on the actual market sequence.

Troubleshooting, Privacy & Data

Why does the site feels slow on first load?

The initial download includes the Swiss Ephemeris engine (WebAssembly) and data files. Afterwards, they’re cached and won’t download again unless you clear storage.

Why isn't my offline coordinate input working?

Make sure you use a comma with no spaces, and use negative signs for South and West (e.g., -33.868,151.209).

Where is my data stored and is it shared?

All personal birth parameter inputs are saved strictly inside your browser using localStorage (no account creation, email registration, or profile tracking is ever required). AstroClock does not maintain a remote database to collect, save, or log your charts.

The only time chart metrics leave your device is when the app generates interpretations via the Gemini AI features (Synthesis and Oracle). The system securely transmits the calculated raw text parameters to the AI engine to build your custom readings anonymously. This data is processed completely free of personal identifiers, cookies, or profile logs, and is never saved permanently on a server.
